If you employ EU nations within your company, you need to keep yourself informed of the changes currently taking place as a result of Brexit. EU nationals are required to apply for ‘Settled Status’. Those with a visa which states they have ‘indefinite leave to remain’ do not need to worry. That said, members of their family may fall into the category of those who need to apply. Settled status, or pre-settled status, under the EU Settlement Scheme means you can live and work in the UK after December 2020.
The scheme opens in 2019.
The scheme closes in June 2021
There will be a fee of around £65 if you are over 16 years of age. £32.50 if you are under 16.
To apply you will need to click here. This link will take you to a Government site containing all the information you need to know. Applications are already being processed.
The Government website states;
If you’re an EU citizen, you and your family will be able to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. If your application is successful, you’ll get either settled or pre-settled status.
